Thames Water teams up with OneVu

8 February 2008 – Thames Water Utilities, the UK’s largest water and waste water services company, is the latest organisation to sign up for the OneVu service to reinforce its commitment to customer service and the environment.

OneVu is a unique service that enables customers to choose to view and pay their bills through the secure environment of their online bank. The service is free for consumers to use and offers convenient access to a large and growing number of bills and statements, saving the consumer time and providing a greater control of their personal finances. Thames Water’s 13 million customers will have access to the service online if they bank with Lloyds TSB, NatWest or Royal Bank of Scotland; other banks will follow over the coming months.

Thames Water’s decision to join the OneVu service is driven by its determination to provide services for its customers that make their lives easier and their interaction with the company more convenient. The company currently issues several million paper bills each year and believes savings can be made rapidly through a reduction in the processing and posting of paper bills, lower communications and payment related costs.

Mike Tempest, Customer Services Director at Thames Water, said: “We believe that our customers will find this service more convenient and will support its environmentally friendly aspects particularly in terms of a reduction in wastage.”

It joins other major billing organisations that have already signed up to our service which is designed to maximise the secure access and trusted relationship they have with their online bank.”
